About me.

Hi! I’m Austin, an undergraduate student at UCLA double majoring in Applied Mathematics and Statistics/Data Science. I’m drawn to complex mathematical problems, with a current focus on machine learning and optimization.

01 / how I got here

From equations to experiments.

Mathematics first drew me in because I like taking difficult problems apart until their structure becomes clear.

Statistics and data science added uncertainty to that picture, while building projects made the ideas tangible. That combination keeps pulling me toward machine learning and optimization.
